The HPCUG2001 Conference is a key event to learn about all aspects of HP's high-performance computing systems and system software as well as application development environments. It is also a perfect opportunity to talk directly to representatives of development and higher management about all aspects of high-performance computing. And of course requests, wishes, recommendations etc. concerning product features and/or directions are highly welcome. The HPCUG2001 comprises several highlights:

KEYNOTES Ed Yao-Wu Yang - HP's Vice President and Chief Technical Officer Computing Systems will open the conference with a keynote on Technology Trends, and the the HP View.

Carl Kesselman - Senior Project Leader and Research Associate Professor of Information Sciences Institute (USC) will provide a keynote on Computational Grids.

Ron Boisvert - Chief, NIST Mathematical and Computational Sciences Division will give a keynote lecture on Status and Trends of Java for High-Performance Computing.
INVITED TALKS Several invited talks by individuals with a high reputation will address specific issues of general interest - highly controversial issues like JAVA for high-performance computing or SMP-Clusters vs. Single-Image Systems will be covered by two speakers with controversial positions, followed by a general Q&A session.

DEVELOPMENT/PRODUCT UPDATES In a special session, mangers and specialists from the divisonal development centers will present status and roadmaps for all major products of interest in the high-performance arena. These session also allow for a strong interaction between the audience and the speakers. CONTRIBUTED PAPERS Several tracks of the conference are dedicated to presentations by provided by customers from industry, research and government. Please refer to the Call for Papers for more details - please plan to submit an abstract this year to allow for scheduling the contribution in the right track. TUTORIALS Several tutorials will provide in-depth information on specific products and/or features - a special focus is on tuning for parallelization and performance as well as on aspects of system administration.
