MATERA-BARI (Italy) ERS SAR Multitemporal Image of a part of the South Italy obtained using three ERS-2 images. In this multitemporal image it is possible to recognize the Adriatic Sea, on top, a small portion of Ionian Sea with Taranto ant its "Little Sea" and "Big Sea", and three different landscape units. On the bottom left, there is the "Fossa pedappenninica" unit, constituted by incoherent rocks and with predominant herbaceous cultivations; between this unit end the Adriatic Sea there is the "Murge" unit, constituted by coherent rocks and with a large diffusion of woody cultivations. On the bottom right there is the hinterland of the Gulf of Taranto, composed by a series of marine terraces intensely cultivated. On the bottom centre of the image is possible to see many impressive erosive phenomena constituted by deep incision called "gravine" or "lame". The urban agglomerations are grey.
