Poster Session Announcement

The Petaflops II conference organizers realize that it is difficult to do
justice to any of the topics covered in a half-hour talk. Because of this, we
have reserved time for a poster session on Thursday evening and would like to
encourage each of the speakers, and invite other conference attendees, to
participate. As we see it, a poster could be as simple as a set of viewgraphs
from one of the conference talks--this would serve as a magnet for discussion.
A poster might present technical detail that was not adequately covered in a
conference talk--this might provide an opportunity to showcase the work of a
student or colleague. A poster could even present an “off-the-wall” idea to
explore a new path towards petaflops computing. We are not interested in
unnecessarily restricting the poster topics; we are interested in stimulating
informal discussions in collegial surroundings.

We will provide 4’ x 4’ tackable boards for each poster. There will be repro
facilities available at the conference; we expect to be able to support
"last minute" printing of viewgraphs for a few of the posters, although we
would prefer to have advance copies. We are currently planning on space for
roughly 40 posters, but can arrange more space if necessary. If you think that
you might be interested in participating, please reserve space by contacting
the poster session chair,
