Title: A graphical user interface for doing science with ontological data

Abstract: Doing science with ontologies requires that we make the user interface both precise and easy to learn/manipulate/understand. Sparql is an up and coming query language for semantic data, however, we believe that formulation of this kind of query will be burdensome except for the most expert, power users. This fact becomes particularly apparent when one considers that the science data are likely to be more complex than the usual information held in knowledgebases, requiring special, additional structures, with which to record the accuracy (errors) of the information. We will present our effort at developing a graphical user interface which overlies a science knowledgebase which has been constructed to hold information (including errors) and is itself a Sparql endpoint.
